Christmas weekend....

So..I was incredibly stressed getting everything done for the holiday and now its over - seems like I blinked and Christmas just passed me by - this year has gone by so FAST. I always thought that I couldn't wait until I "grew up" and now I wish I was back in school and on winter break. Back to work today after a wonderful time with family and friends. I ate so much wonderful food and drank and just had a great time. School is over - got an A in one class and a B- in the other - not too bad. I'll be done, if everything goes as planned, next fall. It is tough taking too many classes at once with working a full time job and a part time job. It seems that the busier I am, the better I am with juggling everything - if I am busy I am forced to prioritize and not procrastinate. I signed up for a 5k in Feb - I am pretty excited. I think I do better with my running schedule if I have a goal! I slack if I don't have any races or anything - I so wish I wasn't like that! I am really excited about it bc I think my boyfriend is going to do it with me and we have never done a race together so it will be fun!

Of Course....

So of course I went on a bit of a hiatus as soon as I started this...why why why....I feel like as soon as I make a commitment, I immediately run from it make excuses! I have to change my mindset and get rid of this mental block that I have. I am no longer happy with myself and I get down on myself because I am not seeing immediate results. I know it will take a little while to get to my goal so i have to accept this and take it one day at a time. Tomorrow I have a 3.5 mile run planned and a little upper body weight training. Also - I FINALLY tried almond butter - I got the crunchy no stir kind - DELICIOUS!!! I absolutely love it. It seems to be more filling than regular peanut butter and I actually prefer the texture of almond butter!

Today's the first day....

So I am completely new to running - I have had several affairs with running over the years but nothing too serious. I have been enamored by people who run marathons or go on a casual, easy 9 mile run!! Gosh, I consider an easy run one of only 3 miles. I have done a few 5k's but am hoping to beging a journey to bigger and better things! I have also sturggled with losing some weight - I am probably 20 pounds overweight and am no longer happy with myself and would like to be more comfortable in my own skin! Today I did some upper body weights for 30 minutes and some core work. I added a blog roll to show some of the people blog's that I have read on and off...and they have inspired me that I to can become a runner!
